Golden Gate Bridge Food and Drink Specials ~ Food News ...

Unless you?ve been living under a rock, you probably heard that Bay Area is gearing up for a boatload of weekend festivities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Plenty of San Francisco restaurants are getting into the act, not just those who boast an actual view of the iconic bridge.

This weekend only:?

Bluestem Brasserie:?During brunch on Saturday and Sunday, SoMa?s American brasserie will be rolling back the price of selected drinks and bar bites. Hamms?s Beer, the throwback American lager that was once produced at the landmark Hamm?s SF brewery at 1550 Bryant Street (1954-1972), will be only 75 cents, as will a slate of American bar bites such as housemade corn dogs (11 AM-3M, 1 Yerba Buena, 415-547-1111).

Greens: On Sunday, chef Annie Somerville will be taking full advantage of her venerable vegetarian restaurant?s panoramic views of the bridge. Spots are still available for the early-bird seating (5:30-6:45 PM, a la carte menu), allowing guests to dine and dash before the fireworks. The later four-course ($75) prix fixe (7-9 PM) is already sold out (May 27,?reservations must be made through the restaurant directly, Fort Mason, 415-771-6222).

Murray Circle: On Sunday, over in Sausalito, Murray Circle chef Justin Everett will be hosting a barbecue buffet replete with live music and unobstructed views of the fireworks from its terrace (6-10 PM, $75 for adults, $25 for kids, reservations required, 415-339-4758, 602 Murray Circle).

Throughout May:

Ame and The St. Regis: From now through the end of May, guests of Ame and the hotel lobby bar can knock back a specially crafted Morrow?s Aim (SF China Beach Vodka from Treasure Island, Rothman Apricot Liqueur, Elisir M.P. Roux, Lemon Juice, $14), inspired by the famous Golden Gate Bridge architect (125 Third St, 415-284-4049).

Michael Mina: Under 30 bar star Carlo Splendorini will be creating special cocktails in honor of the bridge, including an orange-colored Morning Fog (Smoked vodka, fig marmalade, sparkling wine, $11) and Golden Gate 75 (No. 209 Gin, Rasberry Gomme, Lemon, Aperol and Egg White, $11) (252 California St, 415-397-9222).

Presidio Social Club: All month long, the Presidio-based restaurant will be presenting a slate of historically inspired seafood such as roasted sturgeon with Bay-style chowder, as well as a special commemorative cocktail - the Golden Gate #2 cocktail (gin, light rum, lemon juice, falernum ?and creme de cacao) (415-885-1888, 563 Ruger St).
